2. Prototype & Tooling
Once the design is locked, we move into validation. Prototypes are built, tested and refined. Tooling is designed and produced to prepare for manufacturing.

- What does Production Heroes take on, and what stays with me?
- We take on design for manufacturing, tooling, production, quality control and logistics across our network of manufacturing partners. You keep the product and brand decisions, and deal with one party instead of coordinating a chain of suppliers yourself.
- Can I come in when my design is already finished?
- Yes. The concept and design phase is only needed when a design is not yet production-ready. Projects regularly start at prototype and tooling, or straight at manufacturing when the tool already exists.
- What happens when demand grows faster than planned?
- That is the supply chain and scaling phase: production planning and batch management, alternative production routes, and continuity planning, so a rise in demand does not turn into a shortage.
- How does this process avoid unexpected costs?
- By making the manufacturability decisions before the tool is cut. Design for manufacturing, material and process selection, and sampling all sit ahead of production, where a change is still cheap.
